Celebrating a birthday party soon? Yesterday I shared a really fun blingy unicorn birthday party that you can totally make with your craft supplies and dollar store swag. Today I am sharing a similarly BRIGHT and happy Birthday Card you can take to the party using a Die-Namites die and Tombow Adhesive that the companies sent to me.
Join me and the Tombow team for a blog hop this weekend with the Die-Namites crew! Go to the Tombow USA Blog for the full hop list and to get started visiting the other blogs 🙂
All too often I give birthday cards that are made from paper and they get trashed and fade and just don't last. I really loved how intricate the die I received from Die-Namites was so I issued myself a double challenge: 1) create a card without paper as the base and 2) see if Tombow adhesive could make this magic happen. Luckily for us both, I was successful! You could have just been reading about a pile of scrap…. ahh, but I have more faith in Tombow adhesive than that and you will too after reading this.
I used the Die-Namites party hat die to cut a sheet of metallic cardstock and a sheet of thin glitter cardstock, both of which it cut beautifully and cleanly. I love that the Die-namites dies have holes in the back so you can use a pin to push any stuck pieces out of the die. Such a smart design. I used Tombow MONO Aque Glue to adhere the black glitter cardstock die cut to the back of the metallic pink cardstock die cut to make a shadow. MONO Aqua dries fast and is perfect for paper, making it a great choice for diecuts.
Next, I glued the shadow party hat die cut to the center of a circle of Modern Surrealist Neon Dazzling Diamond Self Adhesive Rhinestone Sheet from The Buckle Boutique. I used Tombow's MONO Multi Liquid glue as it stays tacky, helping the die cut remain adhered to the plastic rhinestone sheet. I peeled the backing from the rhinestone sheet and stuck tissue festooning to the perimeter of the circle. Then I added Tombow Foam Tape to the back of the circle and mounted it to the center of a 6″ x 8″ card I create by folding in half a 12″ x 8″ sheet of Rowlux. I stamped a sentiment with ColorBox Archival Dye ink and added a ribbon bow with a Tombow Adhesive Dot.
This card is fun, unique, and goes together lickety split with the help of Tombow adhesives. Add a sheet of paper as insert to allow you to write a note inside the card.
