How to make grilled tuna for a tuna torta.

Fish Marinade:

  • 2 tuna filets (can substitute with salmon or mahi mahi, depending on what fish your Walmart stocks)
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro diced
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • olive oil (to brush on fish while on the grill)

Sandwich Recipe:

  • 1 Soft Kaiser or French style roll
  • 3 TBSP Creamy Guacamole Recipe
  • 1/4 cup shredded cabbage
  • 3 slices red onion
  • 3 slices tomato
  • 3 slices japaleño
  • 1/2 filet of tuna, grilled

  1. Make the Creamy Guacamole recipe with Knorr® Tomato Bouillon with Chicken and Best Foods® Mayonnaise.
  2. Mix the marinade and pour over the fish. Marinate for 20-30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Cook the fish on the grill over hot coals with the skin side down. Cook for 5-10 minutes depending on desired firmness (cook longer for firmer fish).
  4. Before flipping, brush with olive oil to prevent the fish from sticking to the grill.
  5. Flip the fish over and peel away the skin. Continue cooking for 3-5 minutes. Remove fish from the grill.
  6. Slice the bun to make two halves. Toast the bun on the grill or in a toaster.
  7. Spread 1 TBSP of guacamole over the bottom bun.
  8. Break the fish pieces in half to fit the bun and set on top of the guacamole.
  9. Add the cabbage.
  10. Add the onions.
  11. Add the tomatoes.
  12. Add 2 TBSP of creamy guacamole.
  13. Add the jalapeños.
  14. Add the top bun. Slice in half and serve with chips and an extra dollop of creamy guacamole.
