Life is amazing! You can still be SMART about food, crafts, decor, travel, and entertaining and still keep things FUN and enjoyable. To us FUN means color, happiness, smiles, enjoyment in the process, and pleasure from creating a life your LOVE.
DIY
All of our ideas can be done by YOU. We test the ideas and think through the process so that what we share in our posts and videos is the easiest path to getting amazing results. We try to keep the tools realistic, ingredients easy to find, and process simple so that you can follow along with our recipes and tutorials to get the exact same results when you try them. We believe in keeping it real; if a project has a tricky part or the results weren't what we were expecting, we share that in the tutorial. We're all about truth over perfection!

After working in the arts and crafts industry for 15 years, I was really frustrated by the unhealthy, wasteful direction of the crafts industry and even just American culture overall. We almost lost our home in 2013 and that process made me re-examine my relationship with things, especially craft supplies and the craft projects I've made. My family has been faced with some serious health issues and injuries which came to a tipping point in 2013 as well, leading me to seek out a healthier, cleaner lifestyle. And I found myself struggling financially when I knew we could be handling our money and money-making decisions so much better. As I talked to friends, family, and blog readers like you about these issues, the solutions we were finding, and the strategies we had tried, everyone started asking for more information. Around that same time, my previous website, Hydrangea Hippo, had been hacked so badly that I couldn't use it for my business. It was time to make a change and this new site was born.
I can't even express how incredible sharing this journey with you has been. The reward is hearing from people like you that “that recipe impressed my whole family … and it was easy!” or that “your story inspired me to declutter my craft space” or that “you helped me get the courage to finally book that vacation with my family!”. Every time I get asked to work with a sponsor or start thinking about sharing a solution to a problem we have or I see a new craft product to try, I think about YOU first. We only want to share products, ideas, and projects that actually work, that keep life simple, and that give immense enjoyment for the price. It's a tall order but I wake up every day, ready for this challenge. The best feeling is when I get feedback from YOU in comments, emails, and posts on social media about how a post we did somehow helped you. So with that said …
