They know me so well. They sent me cat stamps! They obviously really really like crazy cat ladies. Teehee. I totally love these fun cat stamps from Art Impressions and was really excited to receive them and use them along with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens and Colored Pencils that Tombow sent me earlier this year for today's hope with Art Impressions and Tombow! Since I spend so much time coloring and lettering with Tombow's Dual Brush Pens, I thought it might be a fun change to color these fun cat images using colored pencils. I created two different types of bookmarks using the Art Impressions stamps and the Tombow recycled Colored Pencils, making a perfect fun gift for a crazy cat lady in your life. Send her off to college with these bookmarks, gift them to a teach who loves cats, or just spread the cat-world-domination love by placing these in a book in the book store. That's totally not creepy AT ALL. Cat ladies will totally love you.
The first bookmark is the traditional rectangle bookmark with rounded corners and a tassel at the top. I used a masking technique to stamp and an all-over pattern on the paper and then colored the images with colored pencils. The second bookmark style is made from envelopes and one stamped image, cut out from paper. Here's how I made the two types of bookmarks:
Aren't those fun?! I suppose you could use other stamps to make these bookmarks but why would you?
I especially love that you can use the colored pencils to color the stamped image to look like a real life cat that you own or have owned in the past. I definitely was channeling my memories of Marshmallow as well as a little 1970s Garfield in the making of these bookmarks.

Jennifer – I’m positive that your post is going viral as we speak in the Cat-Lady-Blog world (I’m sure there is one). These are the sweetest bookmarks – and such a great idea!
haha I hope but not so far 😉 LOL Thanks!
thanks for the fun hop!
Wow, What a super cute idea! Love how you stamped the cats all over the bookmark! Must have took forever. Great project!
Thanks for the great video. I’m a visual learner so this is just perfect for should I say perrr-fect?
Boy I have quite a few “cat” friends who don’t like to be referred to as “cat people”. These would be a great gift. Thanks for the idea
Nice bookmark. Love the cats
very cute project, I’ve seen corner book marks but this one is the cutest, can’t wait to get this fun stamp
Oh my… LOVE the kitty bookmark!! Cute!

What a great idea. I love these cats. TFS
Hehehe, I just love all those cats….. your book markers are fantastic. But I love how you colored all those cats, selectively. Thanks for sharing.
These are fabulous little bookmarks and an adorable stamp! Thanks so much for sharing the how-tos. I want to make these for some cat-loving family members. I’m evidently the crazy cat lady in the neighborhood whether I want to be or not–we think there’s a mark on the curb saying all cats welcome at our house 🙂
So glad someone besides me still makes bookmarks! I thought it was a dying art! lol Love the idea of reusing the envelope too!
Great idea for a different kind of bookmark!! Thanks for sharing!
I guess I am one of those crazy cat people! Love the bookmarks and cat stamps. Thanks for sharing the video.
Adorable projects, Jennifer!
This is such a creative way to use the Front and Back stamps! Love these!

Someone mentioned to me on my blog that we need to do a Cat Lovers Hop sometime. Wouldn’t that be fun!!!

I had to make a double take on this one! I love what you did with those cute little kitties! Nice work!
Jennifer, Thank you so much for linking up last week at SHARE IT sunday linky party at FineCraftGuild.com. You just have the greatest ideas. Such cute cats and what a great cut-out idea. I love your contributions each week. Always something new going on!
Till soon I hope as a new party just opened ~ Rose
ps I PINNED this!
CUTE & CLEVER idea for 2 types of bookmarks! For “cat lovers” these must be FAB! Both are creatively done with stamps & colored in sections using colored pencils. I like the corner page bookmark the best. I plan to make similar bookmarks for birthday gifts for my 16 great nieces and nephews ages 2 to 12 (7 families). THANKS for sharing. Sarah in Minneapolis
Thank you so much!!! I’d love to see them – please come back and share your photo!
This is the most adorable project – very creative use of the stamp for stacking!!! I am a cat lady and I would love it if someone gifted me with that. I’m so sad i’m in Canada 🙁 Shipping is a bit steep.
Super cute! Can’t wait to do this with my similar dog stamp. And who knows what else?
OMG these are adorable! Hello, fellow cat lady 😀 I’ve seen corner bookmarks made out of fabric that’s been sewn, but I hadn’t come across ones made from envelopes. What do you do with the rest of the envelope, though, once the corners are removed? I don’t want to be wasteful, which is why I’m asking. I also hadn’t considered using stamps for bookmarks, because I’ve mostly just been planning to draw them, but that’s a really great idea, too. Blessings!
