This post is in collaboration with JCPenney. All opinions are 100% my own. It’s high time we upgraded our coffee make to the newest Keurig! In the summer our whole family gathers round the Keurig to make their favorite drinks, both hot and cold. We love iced teas, lemonade, hot cocoa, coffee, and even hot tea all year long and the Keurig allows us all to have these favorite drinks at the touch of a button. Summer was not going to be the same until we replaced this essential coffee maker in our home. The place to get a new Keurig for a great price? We headed to JCPenney of course! One-stop shopping for the whole family!
With a broad assortment of our favorite products for the home, clothing, and more, we knew JCPenney would have the Keurig machines we’re looking for at the price we want. As soon as we got in the store, we found the machine we wanted, on SALE! We also spotted a few really cute kitchen towels to match my new kitchen towels.
I love the assortment of unique and colorful name brand kitchen items at JCPenney that help you create a welcoming home in the colors you love.
The kids loved these really fun mugs in English and Spanish at the checkout. New coffee maker, new mugs, right?! Each of the kids chose their favorite mugs. Apparently they think I need that “Crazy Cat Lady” mug … whatever!
Once we got home, it took about 10 minutes to set up the Keurig. JCPenney even has the K Cups in store too! Each kid chose their favorite drink to make. Matthew made iced hot cocoa in his new “El Jefe” mug from JCPenney. And Katie made iced lemonade in her new “Best Day Ever” mug.
Three Ways to Make Drinks in Keurig:
As much as I love the Keurig, I don’t drink coffee as much as I used to! If you love tea, hot cocoa, and more, check out these three ways to use the Keurig to make drinks other than coffee:
1. ICED LEMONADE or ICED TEA
It’s very important to only brew “over ice” drinks into plastic cups. If you fill a glass or ceramic cup with ice and then brew the hot drink into the cup, the temperature change can cause the glass or cup to shatter.
Here’s how to make iced drinks in the Keurig:
Fill a plastic cup with ice. Place the plastic cup in the Keurig. Then insert the K Cup and press the button for the drink size you want. The Keurig will “brew” the drink. Once it has finished the brewing process, remove the plastic cup and pour the drink into your favorite cup. Add fun paper straws for a touch of whimsy!
2. HOT BAGGED TEA
Make sure the K Cup compartment is empty on the Keurig. Place a mug into the machine. Open and close the top of the machine so that it “thinks” there is a K Cup inside. Hit the button to brew the cup size you’d like. The cup will fill with water. Steep your favorite tea bags in the water as usual.
3. HOT COCOA with K CUPS
There are a wide variety of K Cups for every taste and season. My son Matthew loves the Hot Cocoa and the Hot Apple Cider K Cups! Insert the K Cup into the compartment on the top of the machine. Place a mug into the machine. Then choose to brew the cup size you’d like.
P.S. We got that great shirt Matt’s wearing at … you guessed it! JCPenney!
The whole family can gather around the Keurig and make their favorite summer drinks, to order. Get everything you need to make fun summer memories at JCPenney. It’s #SoWorthIt!
I need to try a Keurig. I think my whole family would love it. Love those towels too.
Okay – so many things. First of all, I had a Keurig but it got LOST in a move (don’t ask). I need a new one and now I know where to go! Secondly those colored utensils. And that Super Mario shirt?!?! Okay, I’m heading to JC Penney’s . . .
