Matthew has really started to like making ice cream floats so we included all the ingredients for making mini Coca-Cola floats! We also added M&M’S® Chocolate Candies and other assorted, chopped Mars candies in cups to top individual bags of Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater Popcorn for the custom “popcorn bar”.

Make it a movie night with Coca-Cola floats and a DIY Popcorn Bar

To make the whole scene come together, we decorated the wall with wrapping paper, added a pretty red table cloth, and put all the food on cake plates. I had a few rolls of carnival tickets in my stash so I propped the cake plates up on those to make room on the table for all of the snacks. Above the table we hung paper lanterns, pom pom garlands, and decorations from my craft supply closet.

Once all the goodies were set up on the table, we were ready to watch the movie! Everyone could make their own custom floats and popcorn mix to enjoy just the way they like it with the fast movie night snacks we created.

Genius idea! Add M&M’S® Chocolate Candies and chopped candy bars to microwave popcorn for a decadent movie night treat!

Making a Popcorn Candy Bar for movie night

The key to this popcorn bar is great candy and delicious popcorn! We really love being able to customize our snacks, buffet style, so this popcorn candy bar was just the ticket.

We started with M&M’S® Chocolate Candies and added several other varieties of Mars Chocolate. I love the handy resealable canister the M&M’S® Chocolate Candies are packaged in. They're perfect for enjoying right from the canister or for sprinkling M&M’S® Chocolate Candies onto your popcorn or ice cream as a fun topping.

If using other candy bars, cut them up to make them smaller so they'll settle in with the popcorn.

Find Orville Redenbacher popcorn at Walmart

Pop the Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater Popcorn according to the directions on the package. The popcorn smells amazing and I love that it comes in it's own pop-up bowl. We picked up this box at our local Walmart. We actually chose the Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater Popcorn variety to add that authentic movie theatre touch to our movie night!

Spoon-candies-tino-popcorn

Spoon your favorite candies, like M&M’S® Chocolate Candies, over the top, shake and enjoy! You can shake the candies around inside of the pop up bowl of Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater Popcorn or split the popcorn up into individual bags so that everyone can make several custom varieties of popcorn.

I got cute mini Coca-Cola glasses at a local dollar store and filled each one with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

We then carefully filled the glasses with Coca-Cola, stopping at about one inch above the base of the glass to avoid over-foaming.
