Viva® Vantage® Towels are my favorite paper towels ever! I have been using Viva® Towels for over 10 years – they are my first choice whenever I am grocery shopping. Whether they're soaking up water from freshly washed cilantro or holding a hefty burrito during a tailgate party, they stand up to just about everything my family can throw at them. Tailgating season is definitely here and my family likes to get our celebration on with Mexican flavors and California flair. Today I am sharing a tailgate friendly party spread that your family is sure to love, with the help of Viva® Vantage® Big Rolls: Crock Pot Chile Verde Pork Tacos, Churro Waffles ala Mode, and Xaver's Secret Spice Guacamole and chips.

We picked up all the supplies for our tailgate party at our local Walmart, including Viva® Vantage® Towels Big Rolls in the 6 pack to get ready for the party. Find Viva® Vantage® Towels Big Rolls in the 6 or 12 pack near the Paper & Cleaning area of your local Walmart.

Crock Pot Chile Verde for Tacos or Burritos

My family has long made chile verde and it has been a bone of contention between my dad and my youngest uncle as to who makes the best recipe. My uncle thinks he invented the recipe and my dad says it's their mother's recipe.  My uncle has tried to trade the chile verde recipe to me in order to get my fudge recipe. Well, I made up my own recipe for chile verde and the fudge, well, he can just read the recipe off the jar of marshmallow creme. But shhh, he doesn't know that's where the fudge recipe is from, so don't say anything …

My chile verde recipe is super simple and you can make it in the crock pot. Why? Because good food does not have to be difficult to make. Fill tacos or burritos with this chile verde, eat it on a plate with rice and beans, or cook it up with some fried eggs the next morning for breakfast.

If making tacos, chop a little cilantro and onion and sprinkle on top of the tacos for crunch and color. Spoon the chile verde on top of fried eggs or wilted greens to make this dish paleo-friendly – just leave out the tortillas.

Washed Potatoes Jpriest

The chile verde can be really juicy so keeping Viva® Vantage® Towels nearby is a must for drips on your chin and on the table. Oh, and also on your shirt. What can I say, it's that yummy! You can also use Viva® Vantage® Towels during the cooking process to keep your workspace clean but also to collect water draining from washed veggies, like these potatoes above. To stretch her budget, my grandma used to eat potato tacos or shred potatoes to put in ground beef so a half pound of meat could feed the whole family. We put potatoes in this dish to help capture the flavor of the chile and meat and make the meal go further, but mostly because I like potatoes and the starch helps make the liquid from the roast more gravy-like. Whenever I use potatoes in these dishes, I think of her money-saving tricks with food!

Print the recipe below so you can make this anytime – it's a crock pot meal and usually there is enough leftovers for a second meal so this recipe scores an A+ on the mom-friendly scale!

Xaver's Secret Spice Guacamole

The secret to Xaver's Guacamole is Menudo spices. Yeah! One time we were having a party and ran out of all the right spices… but we had Menudo Mix. And so a new recipe for guacamole was born.

This guacamole is easy to make on the go and packs a powerful punch of flavor. The menudo mix is full of traditional Mexican flavors that are unexpected in a basic guacamole.

For tailgating ease, roll 3 Viva® Vantage® Towels into a cone, fill with tortilla chips, and then put a dollop of guacamole on top to eat on the go!

Churro Waffles ala Mode

Everybody is making churro everything! And then some of my friends started making cinnamon rolls in their waffle maker and it gave me an idea – Churro Waffles! You can make these to order at  the party on a waffle iron or pre-make them, pack them for the tail gate, and heat them up on the grill to warm them. Serve with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top for a delicious treat or wrap them in Viva® Vantage® Towels to keep your hands clean and eat the waffle alone. When the party is over, clean up with Viva® Vantage® Towels! I bring a Viva® Vantage® Big Rolls 6 pack to our parties because it is easy to pack and the towels go a long way, through the party and to the cleanup afterwards. Viva® Vantage® Towels stay tough when wet to resist ripping or tearing so a little water with Viva® Vantage® Towels is all you need to wipe everything down, pack it up, and go enjoy the game!
