Are you excited for Halloween?! I got an amazing box of supplies for just $40 from ConsumerCrafts.com, also known as Darice, so that I could do a Crafty Hangout showing off the decor I made with my loot. They have all kinds of amazing supplies you'd find at the craft store and MORE to make incredible crafts, party decor, and decorate your home. This month was all about Halloween crafts so I ordered a bunch of things that I could use to make my mantel creepy for the season.
You don't have to spend alot to make your mantel look pretty darn awesome for Halloween. I used a combination of items I had on hand, like these green and blue glass bottles and vases plus the supplies I got from Darice to make a fun display on my mantel.
These paper mache hands make great “zombie hands” – all you need it a little paint and spray ink!
These giant black roses are a larger than life take on traditional crepe paper roses. Darice offers larges sheets of crepe paper in various colors which are perfect for making these giant flowers. I like how the paper is stiffer than party streamers so you can really get it to do more cool architectural things.
I am still working on the mantel since it is the beginning of the month but I think it is off to a great start. I decided to go with non-traditional colors this Halloween: lime green, olive green, cyan., and turquoise, with a black and white base. I'll be sharing how to make the garland (and several others) soon on my YouTube channel (click here to subscribe) where we are celebrating Halloween with 30 days of videos – one new video every day!
Want to make these projects? Watch the video below and scroll to the end to see the full supply list. No one will ever know you could do all this for under $40!
